
Hannah Amrollahi has been awarded a scholarship to attend the Denver Publishing Institute this summer. Hannah is the Children & Young Adult Department Manager at The Bookworm in Omaha, Nebraska. The scholarship she was awarded is a collaboration with the Binc Foundation, Sourcebooks, and the Denver Publishing Institute; it includes, tuition, room and board, and up to $2000 to cover travel and lost wages.

On learning she was selected to receive the award Amrollahi told Binc,

The symbiotic relationship between bookselling and publishing is key and I am excited for this chance to better understand both parts of getting books to readers – the shared passion of booksellers and publishers everywhere.”

The Denver Publishing Institute (DPI) is a 4-week-long summer program at the University of Denver. DPI is taught by industry professionals who work for trade, university, textbook, and independent publishers throughout the country. Course and lecture topics include book marketing, manuscript editing, copyediting and proofreading, digital marketing strategies, the role of the bookstore, and many publishing specific courses.
