How Can Old Cell Phones Pay Medical Bills?

cell phone driveThose outdated phones can help pay a bookseller’s emergency expenses when they are recycled through the Binc Foundation.  This fall, at the seven regional IBA Trade Shows, the Binc Foundation will be holding a cell phone drive.  Who doesn’t have at least one old phone collecting dust in some drawer? You can help your staff, friends and customers de-clutter and raise money for booksellers in need at the same time. The funds raised through the cell phone recycling project are turned into assistance for medical bills, help with housing and utilities and more.

Recycle phones for a chance to win an AmEx Gift Card

Each phone recycled at Binc’s table at your fall IBA show earns a raffle ticket toward a drawing for a $50 AmEx Gift Card (one winner from each show). The more phones you recycle, the better your odds of winning!

The Binc Foundation uses a respected third-party vendor for this program. All donated phones will have any personal data scrubbed from their memory. Depending on the age and condition of the phone, they are then refurbished for resale, reprogrammed for 911-only calls, or responsibly recycled. The phones don’t need to be in working order, they all have valuable parts. Tablets and eReaders are also able to be recycled in the same way.

Stash those old phones in your suitcase and bring them to the show!

You can hold a cell phone drive at your store or business.  A cell phone recycling drive is a very easy way to get your store, coworkers and customers involved in fundraising for Binc. Check out our website for instructions on getting started today!
