Your monthly, sustaining donation to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation will ensure that booksellers facing unexpected financial emergencies will have a place to turn for assistance. Your support will assist booksellers with serious medical expenses, eviction prevention, funeral expenses, disaster assistance, domestic violence survival, utility shut-off prevention and unexpected loss of household income.
Welcome to the Book Industry Charitable (Binc) Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to assisting booksellers in need since 1996. The Binc Foundation grew out of a wish of bookstore employees to establish a fund to help their colleagues experiencing an unexpected financial crisis. Binc is dedicated to assisting bookstore employees across the United States in their greatest time of need.
In 2014 Binc provided financial assistance to 42 bookstore employees and their families (an increase of 79% over 2013). The higher education scholarship program provided 53 scholarships to bookstore employees and their dependents for a total of almost $200,000. Binc’s professional development scholarship program gave 20 booksellers financial assistance to attend industry events.

Binc Assists A Bookseller Facing a Personal Financial Crisis
With your generous support, the Binc Foundation is able to help veteran booksellers like Clarey Rudd, a career independent bookseller in Ventura, CA.
